What is the Children’s Liturgy of the Word?
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is based on the scripture readings for each Sunday and includes a brief opening prayer, a child-friendly presentation based on that Sunday’s scriptures, a participatory activity and prayers of the Children
At what Mass is the Children’s Liturgy of the Word held?
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held only at the Sunday, 9:30am Mass. The coordinators hope to offer the program on Sundays from early September to June of the next year.
What age must the children be to attend?
The program is especially designed for children ages 5 to 8, however, all children are welcome to attend.
How does the program work?
At the beginning of the Mass, the priest invites the children and parents to come forward to the side door of the Church and then they proceed to Memorial Hall, where the program is held. The children return to the church in time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
